Event Offers Panels, Workshops and Experts in the Growing “Attachment Parenting” Trend, Including Birthing Options, Breastfeeding, Touch Communication and Sleep Techniques with Leading Experts and Physicians

Boobie-Palooza® is a baby event specializing in wellness-based education, combining this valuable information with related exhibitors, entertainment and family-friendly fun. Dedicated to informed pregnancy and early childhood natural health, the daylong event will be coming to Your City soon
From the politics of breastfeeding to birthing options and post-partum survival tips – including how to master the art of sleep as a new parent, Boobie-Palooza’s holistic lineup offers presentations by – and direct access to – a variety of leading experts chosen to help attendees make informed decisions for the optimal health and wellbeing of their child – and themselves.

Workshops and panel discussions not only feature some of the nation’s leading specialists but also squarely address hot topics and trends.

  • Robert Sears, an internationally known pediatrician, author of eight books, and a pediatric expert featured on Dr. Phil, Ellen, CNN’s House Call and CBS This Morning, will discuss the facts about vaccines and address the controversies and misinformation surrounding this important health decision

  • A panel discussion titled, “Whose Boobies? Relationships, Sex and Parenting,” features adoptive mothering blogger, Jamie Lynne Grumet, whose controversial TIME Magazine cover photograph of her breastfeeding her three-year-old son propelled the trend of “attachment parenting” (also known as AP) into the national dialogue. “Whose Boobies?” will explore AP-related topics including breastfeeding, babywearing, co-sleeping and gentle discipline while looking at the realities of redefining and maintaining a loving relationship.

  • Sleep issues are inherent in the lives of new parents. “The Art and Science of Breastfeeding and Sleep,” offers invaluable advice, tips and reality checks on health-supporting rest and renewal practices. New mothers will also be reminded to take care of themselves in the Pamper Me Plush Lounge, a mini-retreat offering free chair massage, mini manicures and facials, and an eco-friendly beauty bar.

  • In an exclusive premier, filmmaker Dr. Elliot Berlin, a chiropractor specializing in prenatal care, will be present for a preview and Q+A of his newest project, “Trial of Labor,” a documentary directed by Robert Humphreys that explores the journey of four women who ultimately opt for vaginal birth after Cesarean, a practice known as VBAC. According to the American Pregnancy Association, “90% of women who have undergone Cesarean delivery are candidates for VBAC,” yet the Bay Area has one of the state’s lowest rates for this option. This method and others, such as natural breech, will also be discussed in panels featuring Dr. Stewart Fischbein, Dahlia Frydman, and other specialists.

Boobie-Palooza is a community-inclusive resource for modern parenting. Workshops, panels and exhibits will be led by a range of experts and practitioners who reflect the Bay Area’s diversity, including the African-American, Latino, and LGBT communities.
